Kenthurst News at The Fire Station

As the fireplace season begins our state has been under serious menace. Our Hills District fireplace fighters have been asked to help in areas beneath menace in Tenterfield and Glenn Innes.
The Hills district has many fireplace fighters on their means for deployment throughout the Mid North Coast on section 44 wildfires and there will be more deployments throughout this unstable fire season.

AWARDS NIGHT
More than 20 members of the Hills District RFS have been recognised for his or her dedication and achievements at a particular ceremony held on the Dural Country Club.

Commissioner of the RFS Rob Rogers joined the Hills District Manager Superintendent Glen McCartney to current three National Emergency Medals, 1 Humanitarian Overseas Service Medal, thirteen National Medals and 5 Long Service Medals to the members at the ceremony.



The National Emergency Medal is awarded to individuals who rendered sustained or important service during nationally vital emergencies in Australia, including the 2019-2020 bush fires.

The commissioner said “Members of The Hills District have always answered the decision, not solely aiding with incidents locally but also to communities in want throughout the state.”

Kenthurst RFS proudly honours two extraordinary members of our staff, Sue Talbert and Anthony Papallo for his or her exceptional commitment and repair.

Sue has been awarded her 2nd Clasp for the National Medal, marking over 35 years of service.

Anthony has earned his 10-year Long Service Medal.

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the world’s largest volunteer hearth service, made up of greater than 70,000 devoted volunteers right throughout NSW.

NSW RFS volunteers are ready to reply to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, all year spherical, attending a range of incidents from bush and grass fires to deal with and structure fires, highway accidents and assisting at other occasions like floods, storms, and searches.
